Hirving Lozano gets leave from Mexico duty to move to PSV Eindhoven

Mexico winger Hirving Lozano has temporarily left the team at the Confederations Cup in Russia to sign a contract with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

Coach Juan Carlos Osorio confirmed that Lozano had not travelled to Sochi with the rest of El Tri but would return on Tuesday, one day before Mexico's second game against New Zealand.

PSV said later on Monday that Lozano had agreed a six-year contract, with the 21-year-old's move from Pachuca set to be completed.

Lozano, known by the nickname "Chucky," underwent a medical on Monday and will return to Eindhoven to formally sign his new deal after Mexico are finished with the Confederations Cup.

At Pachuca, Lozano scored five minutes into his first-team debut at 18 in 2014, and helped the club win the Liga MX Clausura title in 2016.

He becomes the fifth Mexican player to join PSV after Carlos Salcido, Francisco "Maza" Rodriguez, Andres Guardado and Hector Moreno.

Guardado is still with PSV, though talks of a move to new MLS club Los Angeles FC in 2018 are ongoing, while Moreno just left to club on Tuesday to sign with Roma.
