Pepe Reina won't be replacing Gianluigi Donnarumma at AC Milan - agent

Pepe Reina's agent has ruled out his client replacing Gianluigi Donnarumma at AC Milan, amid reports the goalkeeper has been offered a new contract by Napoli.

Reina's name was one of the first to have be linked with Milan following Donnarumma's decision on Thursday not to extend his contract with the club.

Donnarumma is expected to leave Milan this summer, but Reina's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon told Radio Kiss Kiss that his client will not be taking his place.

"There is nothing to it," he said. "There is no possibility at all that Pepe Reina will be going to Milan."

Reina's relationship with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reported to be frayed following comments made by the 68-year-old during an end-of-season dinner with the whole squad.

Reina's contract is up for renewal in 2018 and there had been talk of Napoli cashing in on him while they can, but Il Mattino is now reporting that the club's sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is preparing an offer of a one-year extension.

Reina had been linked with a move to Newcastle and a reunion with former Napoli boss Rafa Benitez, but sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that the Italian side are hopeful of keeping hold of him.

Reina joined Napoli for a second time in 2015 from Bayern Munich after spending the 2013-14 season with them on loan from Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Napoli midfielder Allan is also expected to commit his future to the Serie A club, despite interest from Watford.

"Allan's happy to stay at Napoli," his agent Claudio Vagheggi told Radio CRC. "The Azzurri have constantly repeated how fundamental he is to Napoli. If there were to be any opening to negotiations, then Giuntoli already knows that there are one club interested in him, and that is Watford."
