Lyon have signed full-back Fernando Marcal from Benfica for €4.5 million, the Ligue 1 club has confirmed.
Marcal, 28, caught the eye on loan to Lyon's French top-flight rivals Guingamp last season, registering seven assists in 31 league games for the Breton club.

The Brazilian, who came through Gremio's youth academy, has signed a four-year deal with the seven-time French champions.
"Marcal is a very promising player, a complete defender, technical and capable of contributing a lot going forward," Lyon's Head of Recruitment, Florian Maurice, said in a press release.
"He was one of the best assist-providers in Ligue 1 last year. It's a source of great satisfaction that Marcal has chosen Olympique Lyonnais given the numerous offers he had."
