Andre Silva set for AC Milan medical ahead of reported €38 million move

Andre Silva has arrived in Italy for a medical with AC Milan ahead of a move which would make him the Serie A club's fourth summer signing.

Silva, 21, is set to follow Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie and Ricardo Rodriguez by joining the Rossoneri, who are reported to have already agreed a fee of around €38 million with Porto.

That would take the Serie A club's spending this summer beyond €100m, with €99m already spent on the transfer market so far.

Milan were bought by the Chinese-backed Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux company in April and the new owners are underlining their ambitions with heavy investment ahead of a return to Europe next season in the Europa League.

La Gazzetta dello Sport tweeted a picture of Andre Silva arriving at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan for his medical on Monday. The Portugal international reportedly arrived in Milan on Sunday evening to agree personal terms and undergo the first part of his medical at the club's Milan Lab facilities at their Milanello training ground.

He is due to link up with the Portugal national team on Monday night in preparation for the Confederations Cup with Milan therefore unlikely to waste any time in confirming his arrival, if he passes a medical.

Silva scored 16 goals in 32 appearances in the Portuguese Liga last season, adding a further four in eight Champions League outings. Capped eight times by his country, he has scored seven goals in those outings, including in Friday's 3-0 win over Latvia.

He could inherit the No. 10 jersey left by the departing Keisuke Honda.
