Kylian Mbappe 'would be welcome' at Real Madrid - Raphael Varane

Raphael Varane has told Telefoot that "it would be a pleasure" for Kylian Mbappe to join him at Real Madrid.

Mbappe, 18, scored 24 goals in all competitions for Monaco as they won the Ligue 1 title and reached the semifinals of the Champions League.

He is now in-demand and could move this summer, with France international teammate Varane hoping to convince him to join Real.

"Mbappe is a very good youngster with a huge potential," Varane said. "It would be a pleasure to see him here. In addition to that he is French, so he would be welcome. We will surely get the chance to discuss this."

Real Madrid meet Juventus in the Champions League final with the winner set to complete a Treble. Cristiano Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon have been key men for their sides and Varane thinks they will be rivals for the Ballon d'Or.

"They are immense," he said. "They made history. Their duel in the next game will have an influence on the Ballon d'Or. We're not acknowledging enough how Ronaldo is making football history right now. I'm lucky to play with him."
