Media trying to 'create war' over Milan's Donnarumma - Mino Raiola

Agent Mino Raiola has accused the Italian media of trying to drive a wedge between himself and AC Milan over the future of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma, 18, has only one year left on his current contract, and on Saturday several newspapers, including Corriere dello Sport, reported that Milan were ready to drop him to the bench for the whole of next season unless he signed a new deal by the end of June.

But Raiola believes the stories are being made up and there is no chance that he will move on a Bosman in 12 months' time.

"Nobody said Gigio doesn't want to renew with Milan," Raiola told Radio Deejay. "I don't think the Milan directors said such a thing [dropping him] either. I think they are just trying to create war between me and Milan.

"After international duty, Gigio will go on vacation, then we'll see what happens. We are talking to Milan, we'll see. We will evaluate certain things and there will be others to evaluate too. I don't take anyone away as a free agent."

However, Raiola did not rule out the possibility that the Italy international could move on, with several of Europe's biggest clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.

"Obviously this is a difficult situation," he said. "I have to look after the interests of Donnarumma without letting myself be influenced by the public and journalists. I have to find the best solution for him.

"We are evaluating many things and the evaluation process is not over. It's still early to decide Donnarumma's future. I don't understand why he has to decide a year-and-a-half from the end of his contract."
