Blaise Matuidi says 'time will tell' over his Paris Saint-Germain future

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi has said "only time will tell" whether he stays with the club when his contract expires in 2018.

Although PSG are reported to have offered 30-year-old Matuidi a new deal, he told Infosport+ that he had been left frustrated by their failure to win Ligue 1 this season.

"For the moment, I am very much there," he said. "Only time will tell. I have a contract until 2018. All I can say is that I am Parisien."

PSG face Angers in the Coupe de France final on Saturday and could win a record 11th title in the 100th edition of the competition.

"We will try to finish on a high with the Coupe de France," Matuidi said. "On top of that, it is the 100th edition. We know that this will not necessarily save our season, though.

"This season has witnessed great disappointment. We will not have reached the objectives that were set.

"However, in 2017, we have played like champions. Sadly, it has not been enough."
