Malaga coach Michel will not be surprised if a club pays the €6 million release clause to acquire the team's top scorer Sandro because he says it is a "bargain" price for a striker that had a very impressive campaign. Under contract with the Andalusian outfit for another two seasons, the player has attracted the attention of numerous clubs because of the amount of money that would have to be spent to get him. "We understand that right now he is a player that has an advantage to play in a top club, because if you look at price and performance, he is a bargain for any [club]," Michel told AS. "Goal scorers cost much more in the transfer market than what clubs would have to pay for Sandro right now." Sandro is a reported target of Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Villarreal, Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool. La Vanguardia newspaper reports Sandro's agent, Gines Carvajal, was spotted at the Vicente Calderon stadium earlier this week to discuss the player's possible move to Atletico this summer. "I'm not surprised that the are many teams that want him and are monitoring him," Michel said. "He is a player that everyone wants to sign. "He's been sensational, he's had a great season." The Spain under-21 forward scored 14 goals in 21 league appearances after joining Malaga last summer following his release from Barcelona. Michel knows it will be tough to keep hold of the 21-year-old. "It was a great move by [Malaga sporting director Francesc] Arnau to sign Sandro," Michel said. "He is a key player and we are waiting to see what happens because that will mark our planning. "We know what the transfer market is like and you have to wait. "What happens to clubs like us is that you hope your good players will not leave." Malaga have not given up hope of keeping Sandro for another season. Club sporting director Arnau said on Tuesday that Malaga has offered Sandro a new and improved contract but the player has yet to make a decision on his future. Arnau said: "There are many situations that don't depend on us. We shall see what happens. Our premise is to try to keep Sandro here next year. We will fight as much as we can so that he stays here. The fans have shown him a lot of affection and we have to make a financial effort so that he can remain with us."
