Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez would boost Manchester United - Ryan Giggs

Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs has said Alexis Sanchez would give the Old Trafford side "a lift" if he signed from Arsenal.

Sanchez's future at Arsenal is uncertain as the Chile international has yet to sign an extension to his contract which expires in 2018.

The 28-year-old, who signed for Arsenal from Barcelona in 2014, has scored 21 goals and recorded 10 assists in the Premier League this season.

Giggs said in the Daily Express: "[He's] a brilliant player. His work rate, the effect he has on his teammates, a winner.

"He just looks how South Americans are, tough aren't they."

Asked if he could see Sanchez at United, Giggs replied: "Yeah. Jose Mourinho bought [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic because he is a winner.

"He'd won everywhere he'd gone. Not only the effect on the pitch but off the pitch as well.

"You can just feel that Sanchez would give his teammates a lift."
