Chelsea's Diego Costa insists he'll decide future, may not move to China

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has firmly declared that he will be the one to decide where he will play next season amid continued speculation that he will move to the Chinese Super League.

Costa has been strongly linked to Tianjin Quanjian throughout the season with reports that the Chinese club made a £75 million bid to Chelsea for Costa, whom they were willing to pay £650,000 per week.

Tianjin Quanjian recently denied reports in the Spanish media that the 28-year-old had reached a preliminary agreement to join them this summer.

Costa, who is in his third season at Chelsea and is under contract with the Blues until June 2019, told South American TV channel DIRECTVSports, as tweeted by their United Kingdom correspondent Luis Restrepo: "I am the owner of my future and it does not mean that I am going to China."

The Brazil-born Spain international had a difficult 2015-16 campaign at Stamford Bridge and revealed earlier this season that he had come close to returning to Atletico Madrid last summer.

Costa's goal in Monday's 3-0 win over Middlesbrough took his total to 20 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League starts this season for Chelsea, who are three points away from winning the title.
