Harry Arter: Signing Chelsea's John Terry would boost Bournemouth

John Terry would be an ideal signing for Bournemouth when he leaves Chelsea, the south coast club's midfielder Harry Arter has told the Bournemouth Echo.

Terry will leave Stamford Bridge in the summer after 22 years and is available on a free transfer.

The 36-year-old defender came off the bench to make his 714th Chelsea appearance, and first in the Premier League since November, in the home win over Southampton on Tuesday.

He has been linked with numerous Premier League clubs including West Ham and Swansea, as well as potential moves to the MLS, the Middle East and the Chinese Super League.

And Arter said he believed Terry's experience could help Bournemouth continue their development in the Premier League.

"I think we are a club on the up," he said. "We are looking to improve every year, and the only way we will do that is by getting good players in.

"If John is interested in coming here then I have no doubt the club would love to bring him in.

"I am sure he will have plenty of people interested in him -- but if it is something both parties want to do, then hopefully it will happen."
