Michail Antonio unhappy with lack of new deal from West Ham - sources

West Ham United face a battle to keep hold of Michail Antonio this summer, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Antonio has been left unsettled by a number of matters at the club, sources said, as contract talks have broken down with the club currently unwilling to bring him in line with the club's top earners.

Sources said Antonio is unhappy that the club will not give him an improved deal as reward for his importance to the team.

But Sky Sports, citing a West Ham source, said the London club would not be willing to allow him to leave on the cheap.

"Antonio will be going nowhere," the source told Sky. "He's got five years left on his current contract and he's a valued member of Slaven Bilic's side.

"He's got the chance to double his money, but if it's not a good enough offer for him then he will have to stay on what he's on."

Antonio, who is currently injured, has been arguably West Ham's best performer and is the side's top goal scorer with nine.

The 27-year-old signed a new deal with West Ham last summer and the club promised to discuss a new deal if he continued his rapid progress.

However, those talks have stalled and the news is sure to alert a number of Antonio's suitors, after Chelsea were credited with an interest in the player during the January transfer window.
