Real Madrid have not been in contact about Kylian Mbappe - Monaco

Real Madrid have not made an approach for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe, the Ligue 1 club's sporting director Antonio Cordon has told Cadena Ser radio.

Mbappe, 18, continued his impressive season with a goal in Monaco's 3-1 home Champions League quarterfinal triumph over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday -- his fifth strike in only four games in the competition.

Asked whether Champions League holders Real, who are also in the last four, had contacted him about Mbappe, Cordon said: "The truth is they haven't.

"I hope that Mbappe continues with us for a long time and gives us many great nights of football.

"He is a player that has had an important progression and has deserved it. He is going strong."

Monaco youth product Mbappe has also scored 12 goals and set up five more in 23 Ligue 1 appearances.

The youngster, who made his France debut in a World Cup qualifying win in Luxembourg, is under contract with Monaco until June 2019.

He is reportedly also being monitored by Barcelona and Manchester United.

Asked whether Mbappe has the quality to play for Real, former Villarreal sporting director Cordon said: "Only time will tell.

"There are many factors to consider in order for a player to succeed. He is still very young. We will see what happens this summer -- we expect it to be a long one."

Corden added on Cadena Cope: "I hope he stays for the good of Monaco, but we know how the market works and what football is like.

"He has a clause and it's quite a lot of money. I don't know exactly how much, but it's a lot."

Speaking after the win over Dormund, Mbappe said: "After every success we have been able to ask ourselves questions and work, which has been our strength.

"There are still two or three things we can improve. We can't do everything, but it's already good."

Mbappe's teammate Radamel Falcao hailed him as "a very intelligent player" and said: "Besides his youth, he has a lot of class and has managed to learn to read the games very quickly at this level."
