Nice would consider summer move for Paris Saint-Germain's Hatem Ben Arfa

Nice could move to re-sign Hatem Ben Arfa this summer if he chooses to leave Paris Saint-Germain, according to the club's president Jean-Pierre Rivere.

Ben Arfa, 30, scored 17 goals and provided six assists from 34 Ligue 1 appearances in his sole season at Allianz Riviera last campaign but has only managed one assist and is yet to score for PSG in Le Championnat this term.

Speaking on Canal Football Club, Rivere said that Ben Arfa had to follow his dream of a move to PSG after his stunning season on the Cote d'Azur but suggested he would be open to the attacker's return.

"He is a player who dreamed of going there," Rivere said of Ben Arfa's transfer. "I think he did very well to earn that move, even if his season has not really gone as he hoped it would.

"Had he not done so, he would have regretted it for the rest of his career. Now he has done it, I think he will look to simply enjoy his football again and take pleasure from it."

Asked if Ben Arfa could return to Nice, he said: "The question needs to be asked of PSG, Hatem himself and also ourselves. His is a profile that we could take a look at."

Ben Arfa has enjoyed better luck in the Coupe de France with three goals and an assist from three appearances.

The France international scored two and provided one in PSG's recent 4-0 thumping of US Avranches at Caen's Stade Michel d'Ornano shortly after going public over his frustration at a lack of chances under coach Unai Emery.
