Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos hopes that the French champions are keeping tabs on Monaco's in-demand forward Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe, 18, notched his 11th and 12th goals of a breakout season in Monaco's 3-0 win away at Caen on Sunday before PSG beat Lyon 2-1 to remain within three points of their Ligue 1 title rivals.
Speaking in the mixed zone at Parc des Princes, Marquinhos praised Mbappe and said the teenager's consistency at such a young age is particularly impressive.
"He is a player who is playing very well," Marquinhos said. "It is not easy at that age to play consecutive Ligue 1 matches and maintain that level of consistency.
"He has now been called up by France. He is playing back-to-back matches, he is scoring goals regularly and he will clearly be an important player for France and Monaco in the future.
"He has a bright future ahead of him. I hope that he will continue to work hard and not stop there, he still has a lot to learn."
Marquinhos also suggested that he would like to see Mbappe mature even further alongside himself and his teammates in the French capital.
"Why not? He is doing very well with Monaco but I hope our leaders and scouting network are monitoring him," the 22-year-old added when asked if he would welcome Mbappe at PSG. "He is a player who can make the difference and has so much quality, we will see."
Mbappe has now scored 12 goals and provided five more assists in just 22 Ligue 1 appearances - including only 11 starts -- and he was a key factor in Monaco knocking Manchester City out of the UEFA Champions League en route to the quarterfinals, scoring twice across both legs.
Meanwhile, Mbappe, who became the youngest player to score 13 Ligue 1 goals in France since Thierry Henry in 1996-97, will join up with the senior France squad for the first time on Monday determined to soak up as much expertise as possible from his teammates.
Mbappe's performances for the French league leaders this season earned him a maiden call-up from Les Bleus' boss Didier Deschamps last week.
Before heading to the squad's base at Clairefontaine just outside Paris with four of his Monaco teammates, Mbappe told media he wants to soak up as much experience and knowledge as he can from the established internationals he will work alongside.
"I'm not apprehensive. I'm going there to see how it works. I'm going to have my eyes and ears wide open to listen and learn," the teenager, who has only previously represented France at under-19 level, said.
"With all the great players who'll be around me, I can only learn. I'm going there to gain as much experience as possible."
Mbappe, who only signed his first professional contract last summer, could make his senior debut in France's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Luxembourg on Saturday or the friendly with Spain at the Stade de France on March 28.
