Everton's Romelu Lukaku: 'I am one of the best strikers in the Premier League'

Everton's Romelu Lukaku has said he is "one of the best [strikers] in the Premier League" but wants to know if he can reach the same level as Barcelona's Luis Suarez, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski, Real Madrid's Karim Benzema and Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani.

Lukaku, 23, rejected the offer of a big-money contract extension at Goodison Park and could now leave this summer after talking about a desire to win titles and be on a level with the world's best.

"Suarez, Lewandowski, Benzema, Cavani. That's it. I'm not looking at the rest. No chance. I watch what they do in certain moments and I think 'that's interesting,'" he said. "Now you are starting to compete and you want to show who is best ... I want my team to be the best.

"I want my team to be the most attractive to play in the league. At the end of the day, the big aim in football is to win as many titles as you can.

"I'm close [to them]. Close. At the minute I am one of the best strikers in the league. I can't not say that. If I don't say that I am one of the best, I am shooting myself in the head. At the minute I am one of the best in the Premier League -- 100 percent."

Lukaku has already scored 19 goals in the Premier League this season and has another in the FA Cup.

Everton's No. 10 is also expected to be part of the Belgium squad to face Greece in a 2018 World Cup qualifier and Russia in an international friendly.
