RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner's agent coy on Liverpool links

Timo Werner's agent has confirmed there is interest in the RB Leipzig attacker from Premier League clubs amid speculation linking him with Liverpool.

Werner, 21, has enjoyed an outstanding season with Leipzig, scoring 14 goals in the Bundesliga -- more than any other German player -- and impressing with his pace, ability to finish counter-attacks and contribution to the club's pressing tactics.

The Daily Mail reported this week that Liverpool are keen on the former Stuttgart forward, and agent Karlheinz Forster told Bild that the Germany under-21 international is attracting interest from England.

"There is general interest from Premier League clubs," he said. "The English are everywhere in the Bundesliga -- they scout and track players intensively -- and Timo has made himself even more interesting with his performances and goals for Leipzig."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was reported to have been interested in Werner, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City, during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

Bild reported on Friday that Liverpool have maintained contact with Werner through his agent for over a year and that the player would be willing to listen should they make an offer.

The newspaper said Leipzig do not want to sell Werner, who is under contract at Leipzig until 2020, but could be willing to change their stance for an offer exceeding €40 million.

Werner has scored 27 goals and set up a further 17 in 118 Bundesliga matches for Stuttgart and Leipzig.
