RB Leipzig sporting director plays down Naby Keita Bayern Munich link

RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has played down suggestions that Bayern Munich are interested in midfielder Naby Keita.

Keita, 22, signed a four-year deal with the club last summer, joining from Red Bull Salzburg.

Rangnick told Sport1 Doppelpass: "I don't know anything about Bayern interest. Naby's an extraordinary player who could play in any European top team."

He added that the Guinea international has "no release clause in his contract" and said: "He's still under contract for a long time yet."

With Bundesliga debutants Leipzig flying high in the table, the sporting director added: "If we qualify for Europe, there's also no reason why Nabi shouldn't play for us next season.

"I don't know if he'll play for us for three or four more years. No one knows -- we can't all look into a crystal ball. But I think it's very likely he'll play for us next season."

He also said he "wouldn't swap Keita with [Manchester United midfielder Paul] Pogba for our style of play."

Keita spent Saturday night in hospital after collapsing following Leipzig's 1-0 home defeat to Wolfsburg with what his club said was "an acute stress reaction." according to his club.

Rangnick said Keita had been allowed to leave hospital on Sunday and "considering the circumstances is doing relatively well."
