Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben: China move 'is not an issue'

Arjen Robben has told kicker a move to China "isn't an issue" and did not rule out retiring when his contract with Bayern Munich ends.

Robben, 33, joined Munich from Real Madrid in 2009 and last month signed a contract extension that will keep him with the Bundesliga champions until summer 2018.

He said: "I've never looked far into the future, therefore I'm super happy with the year extension.

"I'm no longer the youngest. If I was 29 or 30, just an additional year's deal would be a bad sign.

"But with this we can look at it again next winter. Perhaps then I'll think this is the end."

Last month, the Netherlands captain criticised players for moving to China at the peak of their careers.

He revealed that he had rejected offers from Chinese Super League clubs that would have brought him five or six times his Bayern salary.

"In 2018 everything is possible. Money isn't a consideration. I've always made decision for sporting reasons, and I'll continue to do that until the end.

"At the moment, China isn't an issue at all for me. The chances of me moving to China are minimal.

"But I've also learnt that you should never rule out anything in your career.

"There's so much money circulating in China that the Chinese are forcing players to at least think about their offers."
