Stoke City's Charlie Adam targeted by Fenerbahce - sources

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam is a target for Turkish giants Fenerbahce before the close of the transfer window, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Fenerbahce are weighing up a move for Adam with the club's manager Dick Advocaat a big admirer of the midfielder.

Advocaat is aware of Adam from his time managing in Scotland and he was interested in signing the 31-year-old when manager of Sunderland.

Adam has impressed in the last couple of months after winning his place back in Mark Hughes' starting XI, scoring one goal and laying on three assists in 15 Premier League appearances.

Former Liverpool and Rangers player Adam found himself out of favour at the start of the season at Stoke, but he has fought his way back into the team since the end of October and his return to the side has seen an upturn in Stoke's form.

A number of Premier League clubs are also monitoring Adam's situation at Stoke after being impressed by his recent performances.

Stoke are keen to keep hold of Adam as they look to continue their climb up the table after a slow start to the campaign, but they are bracing themselves for interest in the Scotland international before the close of the transfer window.
