Vancouver Whitecaps sign attacker Yordy Reyna from Red Bull Salzburg

The Vancouver Whitecaps signed attacker Yordy Reyna from Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg on Monday.

Reyna signed a two-year deal with the MLS club, who hold options for a further two seasons and used targeted allocation money to acquire the 23-year-old.

The Peru internation has scored 14 goals in 41 league appearances with Red Bull Salzburg and Grodig over the past three seasons.

"Reyna is an exciting, hard-working young talent, and we are thrilled to add him to our club," Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson said in a statement. "He's very direct with the ball, he can make the final pass, and he can score goals. He has all the attributes we want."

Reyna has made 17 appearances for the Peru national team, scoring twice.
