Liverpool's Lazar Markovic moves from Sporting to Hull City on loan

Liverpool have confirmed winger Lazar Markovic has joined relegation-threatened Hull City on loan.

The Serbia international has had his season-long stay at Sporting Lisbon terminated and he will now spend the rest of the 2016-17 campaign at the KC Stadium.

A statement on Liverpool's official website read: "Liverpool FC can confirm Lazar Markovic has joined Hull City on loan until the end of the season.

"The 22-year-old moved to Sporting CP on a temporary basis in August, but that agreement has been cancelled by mutual consent by all three parties."

Liverpool and Sporting both needed to come to an agreement in order for the loan deal to be terminated.

A source told ESPN FC on Sunday that the Reds would be willing to cancel Markovic's stay at Sporting should he agree a move to Hull till the end of the season.

Markovic endured a difficult spell in Jorge Jesus' side, making just 11 appearances in total and last featured on Dec. 7.

He spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and returned to Liverpool in the summer but failed to impress manager Jurgen Klopp throughout the preseason.

The one-time Chelsea target has made 34 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals.
