Slaven Bilic wants new West Ham deal for Michail Antonio amid Chelsea talk

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic is keen to tie Michail Antonio to a new contract with Chelsea interested in the winger.

Sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that the Blues are monitoring Antonio, whose current Hammers deal is due to expire in 2019.

The 26-year-old is enjoying an impressive campaign so far, having found the back of the net eight times for West Ham, and Bilic can understand why he might be catching the eye of other sides.

"When players play like that and are at a good age then they are attracting interest from other clubs, and that puts them in a good position for a new deal and definitely he deserves it," Bilic said.

"It's a club decision of course, but Mikey's got a big time green light to sign a new deal. I leave it to the chairman but I hope it's close. I hope it's done to be fair."

Chelsea are in the market for attacking reinforcements after selling Oscar, and Antonio's versatility has brought him to the attention of Blues boss Antonio Conte, having played at right-back, left wing, right wing and up front for West Ham.

His homegrown status also makes him an attractive proposition to Chelsea as they look to boost their quota.
