West Ham target Wolfsburg midfielder Murat Saglam - sources

West Ham United are lining up a move for Wolfsburg youngster Murat Saglam, sources close to the Premier League club have told ESPN FC.

Saglam has come through the ranks at Wolfsburg but is yet to make his first-team debut for the German club.

The attacking midfielder has come to the attention of West Ham scouts playing for Turkey's under-19s and they are now exploring a deal to bring Saglam to London.

Saglam is out of contract at Wolfsburg at the end of the season and West Ham are hoping to sign him on a free transfer.

West Ham's Premier League rivals Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Saglam, but sources have told ESPN FC that the Hammers are leading the race for his services.

Sources added that West Ham are ready to offer Saglam a long-term deal to make the move to London Stadium and they could agree a pre-contract deal with the midfielder in January.
