Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa could be leaving Inter Milan in January - agent

Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa could move in January after being left out in the cold since joining in August, his agent has said.

Barbosa, nicknamed Gabigol, has failed to break into the team since his high-profile arrival from Brazilian club Santos in a deal worth almost €30 million.

Agent Wagner Ribeiro told Radio Bandeirantes: "Gabriel Barbosa is not happy at Inter, apart from the great relationship he has with his teammates.

"The problem is on the field because he's not being given any chance to play.

"I'm going to be back in Italy in January to resolve this situation once and for all."

Ribeiro may look for a move to another Italian club, saying a return to Brazil was not his preferred option.

"It is difficult to see him going back to Brazil in 2017, even if it is possible," he said.

"It's difficult because first and foremost it would be a defeat for him to return, because if he were to return on loan from Inter he would lose his place as Inter's non-EU player."

Barbosa has featured for just 16 minutes in Serie A so far, coming on in a draw with Bologna during Frank De Boer's brief reign as coach.
