PSG 'following' River Plate striker Lucas Alario - agent

The agent of in-demand River Plate striker Lucas Alario has said that Paris Saint-Germain director Patrick Kluivert has been in touch to register the French champions' interest in the player.

Alario, 24, has scored 10 goals in 24 Primera Division matches in 2016 and is attracting interest from a host of European clubs.

Speaking with Foot Mercato, the Argentina international's representative, Pedro Aldave, confirmed PSG's interest but stressed "there is nothing concrete" and that they are simply keeping an eye on Alario's situation.

"PSG? They are following him but nothing more than that now for some time," Aldave added. "There was contact with Kluivert a while ago now but nothing substantial. There has been no offer made for now."

Aldave feels the Ligue 1 giants represent a good option for his client but he also admitted they are not the only European club chasing Alario's signature ahead of the January transfer window.

"Are PSG a good option for [Alario]? Yes, of course," Aldave said. "However, we need to see what is going on in January. Other European clubs are interested but that is normal for an Argentinian player shining at River Plate.

Alario and Aldave are in no rush to make a decision on the player's future and "will wait and remain patient" but the agent made no secret of the fact that the pair are hoping to secure a switch to Europe in the future.

"[Alario] still has important things to play for with his club until the end of 2016," Aldave said. "Only then will we take a decision. The idea is to get to Europe."

If PSG do firm up their interest in Alario, then he will join his compatriots Angel Di Maria, Javier Pastore and Giovani Lo Celso, who is on loan at formative club Rosario Central until the end of the year, at Parc des Princes.
