Axel Witsel focused on Zenit St Petersburg, not thinking of Juventus

Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel has laughed off claims he is no longer committed to the Russian club and is only thinking about Juventus.

Witsel's move to Juve collapsed on deadline day while the Belgium international was already in Turin and had passed a medical.

He was forced to return back to Russia as Zenit did not have time to find a replacement, although he is still reportedly set to join the Italian champions next summer on a free transfer, if not in January.

"Somebody is saying that I'm not playing well because I'm only thinking about Juve, but can people really think that?" Witsel told Le Championat. "This is hugely ridiculous and I've had enough.

"A lot has been said lately about me not joining Juventus and I would say things have been blown out of proportion too. There are even people saying that I'm the person to come to if you want to arrange a trip to Turin.

"I want to reassure everybody that this is not true. When I take to the field, I only think about Zenit."
