Man City sign Colombia winger Marlos Moreno, loan him to Deportivo

Manchester City have signed Colombia winger Marlos Moreno from Atletico Nacional and sent him out on a season-long loan to Deportivo La Coruna.

Moreno has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

He told City's official website: "City are one of the best clubs in the world. It will be nice to experience being part of such a big Club. I want to make the most of it.

"Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. I think he likes young players very much and he can improve young players tactically and technically. It will be great to work with him and to be part of a great team."

City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: "Marlos is an excellent prospect who has already broken into his national team.

"He's a versatile player, still learning, but we believe he has a fantastic future in the game and with City.

"He makes and scores goals and is an intelligent footballer, we're delighted to have signed him."

The 19-year-old has already won seven caps for Colombia and was part of the squad for this summer's Copa America, where he scored his first international goal in the defeat to Costa Rica.

He also helped Atletico to their second Copa Libertadores triumph after they beat Ecuadorian side Independient del Valle in the final in July.

Moreno came through Atletico's academy and has scored eight goals in 43 matches for the club, including three goals in 13 Libertadores appearances this season.

He is the second highly rated South American youngster to join the club in two days following the £27 million capture of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras.

New City boss Guardiola has now signed seven players since he took over the club in the summer following the arrivals of Ilkay Gundogan, Aaron Mooy, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leroy Sane and Jesus.
