Gabriel Jesus in 'very advanced' Manchester City talks - agent

Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus is in "very advanced" talks with Manchester City, his agent has told calciomercato.com.

Sources told ESPN FC on Friday that City were closing in on a deal for Gabriel Jesus and the Brazilian's agent, Cristiano Soames, has confirmed that contract negotiations with the Premier League club are underway.

The 19-year-old, who has also been linked with Inter Milan, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, is expected to cost around €32 million.

Asked if the deal with City is done, Soames said: "I can say that we are defining certain contractual aspects. We're negotiating these."

On whether Inter could beat City to his signature, the agent added: "We are very advanced with Manchester City. We'll see."

Gabriel Jesus, who has been confirmed in the Brazil squad for next month's Rio Olympics, is expected to remain on loan at Palmeiras until the conclusion of the national championship in December.

Palmeiras coach Cuca has confirmed that his player had already spoken to City manager Pep Guardiola with the permission of the Brazilian club's director of football, Alexandre Mattos.

Gabriel Jesus was named Best Newcomer in the Brazilian championship this year and he has scored 26 goals in 67 games for Palmeiras.

He was due to play for Brazil at the Copa America last month only to miss out because of visa problems.
