Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang interested in Real Madrid

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ruled out leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, though he said that if he did leave in the future it would only be for Real Madrid.

Aubameyang, 27, scored 39 goals for Dortmund last season, leading to reports of interest from Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

But the Gabon international is determined to make good on a promise to his grandfather that he would turn out for Real one day.

When asked about a move, he told ZDF: "This year, no. But the only club I would leave Dortmund for are Real Madrid. If they don't come calling, I don't leave.

"My grandfather, the dad of my mum, always wished that I would play in Spain. Two years ago, when he died, I promised him that someday I will play for Real -- and I work hard to reach that goal.

"Real Madrid is my main goal but at the moment I like it in Dortmund. If there is a chance to go to Madrid, I will say immediately yes -- but at the moment there is no contact."

Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel has hopes Aubameyang can take on a mentoring role with Ousmane Dembele after the 19-year-old Frenchman arrived at the Westfalenstadion from Rennes.

Tuchel said: "Because of his perfect French, Auba is the perfect integrative figure for Ousmane Dembele. I think that Auba is adult enough to play a role like this."
