Moussa Sissoko chased by Liverpool and Juventus - sources

Liverpool and Juventus are stepping up their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, sources close to the Championship club have told ESPN FC.

Sissoko has made no secret of his desire to leave Newcastle this summer in the wake of their relegation from the Premier League and he said earlier this week that his priority would be to stay in the Premier League.

A number of clubs at home and abroad have been linked with the attacking midfielder, but Liverpool and Juventus are ready to firm up their interest in Sissoko.

Sissoko impressed for France at Euro 2016 and he was one of their better performers as they lost in the final to Portugal.

Newcastle are reluctant to lose Sissoko, but are aware of the growing interest in Sissoko and the player's desire to secure a quick move away from Tyneside.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to reshape his squad at Anfield this summer and the German is an admirer of Sissoko's playing style, feeling it would suit the brand of football he is trying to implement at Liverpool.

Although it is Sissoko's priority to stay in the Premier League, Italian champions Juventus are ready to offer the Frenchman a move to Serie A.

Juventus could be in the market for midfield reinforcements should they lose Paul Pogba to Manchester United and Sissoko could help fill the void.
