Marquinhos 'happy' to be linked with Barcelona but PSG unlikely to sell

Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos said he is flattered by reported interest from Barcelona but believes the French champions are unwilling to sell him.

Marquinhos, 22, has plenty of admirers around Europe but he has found it difficult to dislodge his Brazilian compatriots Thiago Silva and David Luiz from the PSG starting XI.

The former Roma centre-back previously talked about the possibility of moving to the Premier League one day.

However, he has found it hard to ignore rumours that Barcelona have been tracking him.

"It's not easy," Marquinhos told France Football. "I'm happy that a club like Barca are interested in me -- I can't hide it.

"We're talking about the biggest club in the world. But I have to keep my feet on the ground because PSG never wanted to sell me. But we'll see what happens."

When asked if that meant a move was possible in the near future, Marquinhos replied: "No, not really. PSG are not selling."

Earlier this month, the player's brother suggested that Marquinhos would consider his future at PSG if the club did not allow him to represent Brazil at next month's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
