Corinthians deny reports that Boca's Carlos Tevez is set for move

Corinthians have rejected reports that Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez is close to a move back to the club.

Tevez, 32, was reported to be about to sign for Corinthians from Boca Juniors just one season after joining the Argentinian club, turning down the chance to join Atletico Madrid, Juventus and two Premier League clubs.

"The move [to Corinthians] is practically done, as the only thing missing is the signature on the contract," Kia Joorabchian reportedly said, in quotes carried by the Mirror.

"Atletico Madrid, two clubs from the Premier League and Juventus have all tried to sign him, but Tevez wanted to go to Brazil and to Corinthians."

However, a Corinthians spokesman revealed: "Nobody in the staff of Tevez or Juventus [has] contacted us. There are no negotiations at the moment."

Tevez played for Corinthians in 2005-06, along with Javier Mascherano, before making the move to Europe with West Ham.
