Alexandre Pato targeted by Lazio after Chelsea exit - agent

Serie A side Lazio are interested in signing Alexandre Pato, according to the forward's agent.

Pato, 26, made just two Premier League appearances for Chelsea during the second half of last season, when he was on loan at the Blues from Corinthians.

He did not, however, do enough to convince the Premier League club to make his move permanent, and he has since returned to his Brazilian club.

Pato previously played in Italy when he made a name for himself under Carlo Ancelotti at AC Milan, scoring 63 goals in 150 games for the Rossoneri.

"Pato has offers from several clubs which we are analysing, and among these it is possible [that Lazio are one of them]," his agent Gilmar Veloz told Globoesporte.

Pato's contract with Corinthians expires at the end of the year and the Biancocelesti may therefore be able to sign him for a cut-price deal, with Globoesporte suggesting €5 million as a possible transfer fee.

Italy's Mediaset claims that Lazio president Claudio Lotito will hold talks with Veloz on Thursday to try to thrash out a deal for the forward ahead of the arrival of his club's new coach Marcelo Bielsa at the weekend.
