Benfica sign Colombia international Guillermo Celis from Junior F.C.

Benfica have confirmed the signing of Colombia international Guillermo Celis, on a five-year deal.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who was part of Colombia's third place Copa America squad, signed from Colombian club Club Deportivo Junior S.A.

"I am very happy," Celis said.

"It's a great day, a very important day for me and I am very happy to be here. I want to work in the best way and give my best to win a place in the team and win titles.

"I've been in the Copa America and did not have time to be at home. It was only one day and I came to Lisbon."

Celis, the latest signing in Benfica's flurry of transfer window activity that has also seen the signing of Andre Carrillo from Sporting Lisbon, said he was particularly impressed with his new stadium.

"The Estadio da Luz is impressive," he said of the Benfica's 65,000 capacity ground.

"I will give the best for this club. I'll give a 100 percent."
