AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen fears Tottenham could end interest

AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen says he fears Tottenham Hotspur could end their interest in him if the Eredivisie club continue to block transfer talks.

Janssen, 22, visited Tottenham's training ground two weeks ago to discuss a move to White Hart Lane, while Spurs officials, including chairman Daniel Levy, have travelled to the Netherlands for talks with AZ in the past fortnight.

The Netherlands international, who scored against England at Wembley in March, finished last season as the Eredivisie's top scorer with 27 goals in 34 games and has said he is ready to make a "step up" this summer.

On Thursday, Janssen said he was "frustrated" by AZ's refusal to negotiate with Spurs, after the Premier League side had a bid of €18 million rejected, and he now fears missing out on the move.

"AZ are blocking my dream transfer and that is disappointing," Janssen said in De Telegraaf.

"When I moved to AZ, they wanted me here from first day of preseason. That helped me a lot and now I want the same with Tottenham.

"I trust that Spurs and AZ will talk. If AZ don't, despite the bid, and Spurs call the deal off, that's a big blow to me."
