Marseille accept Crystal Palace's €38m Michy Batshuayi bid - reports

Marseille have accepted a €38 million bid from Crystal Palace for Michy Batshuayi, according to reports.

Palace are hoping to lure the 22-year-old to the Premier League, but L'Equipe reported there is as yet no agreement with the Belgium international, who scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over Hungary.

Batshauyi's agent confirmed the bid to the Guardian, which also noted there would be performance bonuses as well as sell-on fees if the striker agrees to move to London.

The bid of £31.6m would be a stunning outlay for Palace, who set the club transfer record last summer with the £11m move for Yohan Cabaye from PSG..

Palace have long been linked to Batshuayi, but seem to have beaten fellow London sides Tottenham and Arsenal to an agreement with his French club.

The Belgian would be a replacement for the ineffective Emmanuel Adebayor, who was released earlier this month after scoring once in 15 appearances.

But the Eagles might not only be satisfied with Batshuayi, with both papers saying they a deal is also close for Palace to sign Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda on a free transfer.

The Guardian also reported that Palace triggered the £10.5m release clause of Newcastle winger Andros Townsend.
