Dortmund's Nuri Sahin 'not surprised' at Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool success

Nuri Sahin says his former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has done a good job at Liverpool and he's not surprised by his success at the club so far.

Sahin, 27, is currently in his second spell as a Dortmund player following a three-year spell at Real Madrid that ended with a loan stint at Anfield for the 2012-13 season.

However, these moves away from the Westfalenstadion haven't been particularly prosperous and the Turkey international has always ended up back at his boyhood Bundesliga club.

But despite Sahin's smaller impact at Anfield, he's not shocked by his former boss' positive impression at the Merseyside club so far.

"Am I impressed? Yes," Sahin told Sport360. "But I am certainly not surprised."

There's been speculation that the 27-year-old could reunite with Klopp at Liverpool, but Sahin's played down another potential departure with his focus fully remaining on the Bundesliga club.

"I am very happy at Dortmund," Sahin said. "Yesterday it was Galatasaray, tomorrow it is Fiorentina -- it's normal of course in football to hear these things but I am very happy at Dortmund.

"I'm happy that I am healthy again. I will finish the Euros, and then my focus will be fully on Dortmund. I'm fit and I hope I can have a good preseason."
