Southampton's Victor Wanyama completes medical at Tottenham

Victor Wanmaya says he has completed a medical at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of his move from Southampton.

Wanyama flew to London on Sunday to finalise the move and he is expected to return to his native Kenya on Wednesday, with the transfer to be announced imminently.

"I am indeed elated at passing my medicals at Tottenham it's a new dawn in my career and I believe I will give my best for my new team," Wanyama told Soka25east.com.

"I want to thank Southampton management and fans for the exceptional time we had together I will always have a fond place for them in my heart."

Earlier this week, sources close to both clubs told ESPN FC that a fee in the region of £12 million has been agreed for the 24-year-old, who joined Saints from Celtic in summer 2013.

Wanyama is set to become Tottenham's first signing of the summer and the first player to be reunited with former Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane.

Spurs tried to sign the midfielder last summer but Saints blocked the move, despite Wanyama's interest in moving to White Hart Lane.
