Inter Milan are determined to sign Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi - agent

Inter Milan have made an offer of around €25 million for Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi and are "determined" to sign the Italy under-21 international, according to the player's agent.

The offer from Inter matches a reported bid that Sassuolo turned down from Juventus. But Inter are more likely to be able to guarantee Berardi regular first-team football next season, and his agent says that Berardi will consider the offer.

"It's true, Inter have come back in for him and they seem pretty determined," agent Simone Seghedoni told Gazzamercato.it. "Domenico is currently on his holidays, but we will take a look at the situation when he gets back.

"Of course the ball is now in Sassuolo's court. We're waiting to hear what the club want to do."

Inter have funds to invest in their squad for next season following a takeover by the Chinese Suning Group, and Berardi has moved high up on their summer shopping list.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly ready to double the wages that Berardi is currently on, although Sassuolo -- who gave the talented 21-year-old a contract until 2019 when they signed him from Juventus last summer -- are expected to offer a new deal to convince him to stay.

Berardi's excellent relationship with Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco, who recently signed a contract extension, may also help Sassuolo convince their striker to stay.

Sassuolo finished sixth in the Serie A last season, six points behind Inter, with both clubs qualifying for the Europa League.
