Arsenal's David Ospina targeted by Besiktas - sporting director

Turkish club Besiktas have confirmed they are targeting Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina but their sporting director says a deal has yet to be done for the Colombia international.

Ospina overtook the starting berth from Wojciech Szczesny at Arsenal last year but then found himself relegated to the backup position again after Arsene Wenger brought in Petr Cech in the summer.

And Besiktas sporting director Gokhan Keskin confirmed that the Turkish giants would like to bring in Ospina during the transfer window.

"Nothing has been agreed on yet but we are targeting Ospina," Keskin told Turkish radio station Radyospor.

Ospina is currently on international duty with Colombia ahead of the Copa America tournament in the United States.

If Ospina leaves, Wenger may have to find a new backup keeper as Szczesny has also said he is interested in extending his loan deal with Roma for another season after an impressive Serie A campaign.
