Carlo Ancelotti won't make big changes to 'fantastic' Bayern Munich

Incoming Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti has said he is delighted with the quality of the club's squad as he prepares to take over from Pep Guardiola.

Ancelotti, 56, takes the reins at the Allianz Arena from July 1 after signing a three-year deal with the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal winners.

The Italian, who has won the Champions League three times, twice with AC Milan and once with Real Madrid, said he faced a tough task to follow recent successes at the Allianz Arena.

"I want to bring in my philosophy and methodology," Ancelotti told Sky News in Germany. "But I don't want to make too many changes because the team is just fantastic. I am very happy with this squad.

"Bayern have played a great season, but of course it's always about bettering the previous season.

"I've got a lot of work ahead of me -- after all, I have to try to better the incredible last season."

During Guardiola's three years at Bayern, the club overhauled their squad.

Last summer, they brought in wingers Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa as well as midfielder Arturo Vidal, who will be joined next season by Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels and Benfica's midfield talent Renato Sanches.

Club captain Philipp Lahm, meanwhile, said he was looking forward to working with Ancelotti.

The 32-year-old told Bayern's official website: "He is an experienced coach at the highest international level who's won the Champions League several times.
