Javier Mascherano non-committal on Barcelona future amid Juventus link

Barcelona star Javier Mascherano says he is considering his options amid reports that he has already agreed personal terms with Juventus.

Mascherano, 32, is under contract at the Camp Nou until 2018 and has a €100 million release clause, but a report in Sport claimed that advanced talks have taken place with the Serie A champions about a move this summer.

Mundo Deportivo also said that the Argentina international was unsure of his future, with Barca said to be signing another centre-back this summer, and also concerned about his legal status following a conviction for tax fraud in the Spanish courts earlier this year.

Asked about his future by TyCsports, as reported by AS, while on international duty in Buenos Aires, the ex-Liverpool player said the Juventus talk was just "a rumour" however he said he was currently "weighing things up" and had to make a decision about his long-term future.

"I analyse everything," Mascherano said. "It is a rumour. At the moment I am at Barcelona, happy at the club, but I cannot say what will happen.

"There are people at the club who know all I went through during this year, with the problems I had on a personal level. The board, the sporting director know all this clearly.

"I am not talking about an exit, but I always weigh things up. To leave a club like Barcelona you must analyse many things, as there is the chance to win trophies and have a good life.

"But a day will come when all this ends. I don't know if it will be now, or in one year, or two, or three."
