Wolfsburg's Andre Schurrle not for sale despite Borussia Dortmund links

Wolfsburg have said Andre Schurrle is not for sale despite speculation linking the forward with Borussia Dortmund.

Schurrle, 25, returned to Bundesliga after 18 months at Chelsea in January 2015 but has only found form in the last six months.

There had been suggestions that the Germany international could be part of a clear-out after Wolfsburg ended the season in eighth, and Schurrle said he would assess his future after Euro 2016 amid links with clubs including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

On Wednesday, Sport Bild reported that Dortmund are interested in Schurrle, who came through the ranks at Mainz under current BVB coach Thomas Tuchel.

However, Die Wolfe have said Schurrle, who scored nine Bundesliga goals after the winter break, is firmly in their plans for next season.

"I don't even want to open the door even a bit," sporting executive Klaus Allofs told kicker. "We have clearly said that we will not sell Andre."

Wolfsburg are set for a major overhaul of the squad, though, and have brought in midfielder Daniel Didavi, 25, from relegated Stuttgart as well as 17-year-old Dinamo Zagreb winger Josip Brekalo.

They are also set to complete the transfer of Cologne midfielder Yannick Gerhardt, 22, this week.

Brazilian defender Naldo has already announced he is leaving for Schalke after deciding not to renew his contract, and it is expected that others like Luiz Gustavo and Ricardo Rodriguez will follow.
