Renato Sanches has said Manchester United made an offer for his services before he agreed a switch from Benfica to Bayern Munich. Earlier this month, Bayern confirmed the signing of Sanches, 18, from Benfica for an initial €35 million. The midfielder had been strongly linked with United before penning a five-year contract at the Allianz Arena. Sanches said: "Manchester United made an offer. I think it was well known. But I had other offers as well. "I chose Bayern Munich because it's a great club. They have a 65,000-seater stadium and an atmosphere similar to Benfica. I'll win titles." United are currently without a manager following the departure of Louis van Gaal on Monday, although Jose Mourinho is expected to be announced as his successor this week.
