Sassuolo have confirmed the appointment of Cristian Bucchi as their new head coach. The Serie A club announced the arrival of the former Perugia manager on their official website. A news conference will take place on Wednesday, with an "introduction to the city and fans" planned for the evening. Bucchi has signed a two-year contract and will bring with him four technical staff -- assistant coach Mirko Savini, fitness coach Iuri Bartoli, technical advisor Luca Pavoni and goalkeeping coach Luca Gentili. The 40-year-old began his coaching career in 2013 as caretaker manager at Pescara before moving on to lower-league Gubbio and Maceratese and, after a brief spell with Torres, impressing at Perugia. He replaces newly appointed Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco, who made Sassuolo history by leading the club to their first-ever promotion to Serie A and, only three years later, into Europe.
