Sanfrecce Hiroshima gave Japan a home victory to celebrate at the Club World Cup after winning the fifth-placed play-off against Ulsan Hyundai.
The J League champions recovered from an early Hiroki Mizumoto own goal to beat their Asian counterparts 3-2 in Toyota.
Satoru Yamagishi equalised and Sanfrecce captain Hisato Sato bagged a brace before Lee Yong's late consolation for the South Koreans. Both sides lost their respective quarter-finals on Sunday.
Ulsan took the lead in the 17th minute following a mix-up in the Sanfrecce defence when Mizumoto's attempted back pass to Shusaku Nishikawa wrong-footed the goalkeeper before trickling into the empty net.
It took Sanfrecce just under 20 minutes to draw level when Yamagishi slotted home from point-blank range after Ulsan goalkeeper Kim Youngkwang had done well to parry a header from the unmarked Sato following a free-kick.
Skipper Sato then struck twice in 16 second-half minutes to put Sanfrecce 3-1 up and end Ulsan's challenge. He put his side ahead in the 56th minute with a neat finish across Youngkwang after getting ahead of his marker to a low Yamagishi cross into the near post, and notched his second with a close-range finish after being well picked out by Yojiro Takahagi.
Ulsan pulled a goal back deep into stoppage time when Yong's free-kick from the top left corner of the box curled just inside the far post after eluding everyone in the area, but there was no time to go in search of an equaliser as the referee blew for full-time.
