AIK claimed their first win in Europa League Group F - 1-0 at the expense of Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.
Mohamed Bangura's first-half strike was all that separated the two sides at Rasunda, with the Swedish club joining their opponents on four points in the table.
PSV midfielder Dries Mertens had the first sight of goal after 11 minutes, driving low from 25 yards straight at goalkeeper Ivan Turina.
The home side's response was to score the opener a minute later. Celso Borges played a neat touch to Bangura, who powered a shot into the top left corner from 20 yards.
AIK came close to adding an immediate second with Martin Lorentzson getting his head to a corner from Borges, but goalkeeper Boy Waterman managed to get to the ball.
PSV attempted to dig themselves out of the hole they were in, but Turina was equal to a header from Georginio Wijnaldum while Timothy Derijck was wasteful with another header which he directed past the left post from close range.
Borges was causing problems for the visiting defence, though, and his free-kick on the half-hour mark resulted in a header for Nils-Eric Johansson which fell narrowly wide.
PSV may have had the better record in the group but AIK were having the better chances, and came frustratingly close to a second goal after 64 minutes with Helgi Danielsson's right-footed shot striking the crossbar.
The best the visitors could offer in return were long-range chances from Mertens and Stanislav Manolev, which both fell wide, while Tim Matavz was also off target with his header from inside the area.
With full-time approaching, Jetro Willems made one last desperate attempt to snatch a draw but the sight of his 30-yard drive sailing over the bar summed up the evening for PSV.
