Paris St Germain made a convincing start to their Champions League Group A campaign with a 4-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev at the Parc des Princes.
Carlo Ancelotti's men never looked back after establishing a three-goal lead inside 32 minutes thanks to breakthroughs from Zlatan Ibrahimovic (penalty), Thiago Silva and Alex.
Although Miguel Veloso pulled a goal back four minutes from time, Javier Pastore wrapped up the scoring in injury as PSG ended an eight-year absence from European football's top club competitions in style.
The hosts were the first to threaten, with Pastore's third minute shot from barely six yards bringing a good save out of Dynamo goalkeeper Maksym Koval.
The first breakthrough came in the 19th minute. Taras Mykhalyk fouled Jeremy Menez in the penalty area and Ibrahimovic's well-placed penalty beat Koval.
The Swede threatened again two minutes later with a lobbed effort which Koval tipped around a post before Brown Ideye temporarily halted the one-way traffic - although his long-range effort cleared the crossbar.
Pastore shot wide in the 27th minute and then brought another save out of Koval - but the French side were to make their pressure pay soon after when Menez's 29th minute corner was converted from close range by Thiago Silva.
Another corner helped the home side go 3-0 up three minutes later, with Clement Chantome's outswinging flag-kick confidently headed home by Alex.
Niko Kranjcar was wide with a rare effort for the visitors in the 42nd minute but the final chance of the first half went to PSG, with Koval brilliantly catching Ibrahimovic's well-struck 12-yard effort.
The third quarter of the contest saw just one chance, with Ibrahimovic - playing Champions League football for a sixth side - shooting over.
Kranjcar brought a save out of PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu in the 75th minute before Pastore shot wide at the other end.
Veloso pulled a goal back with four minutes remaining with a curling effort from 20 yards.
However, Pastore restored the three-goal margin in the fading seconds, finishing from 12 yards after Nene had created the opening.
