Berwick replaced 10-man Clyde in fifth position thanks to a 2-1 win at Shielfield, with goals coming from Dean Hoskins and Steven Notman.
Clyde had opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Kevin Watt reacted quickest to place the ball home, after Youssef Bejaoui parried Bryan Gilfillan's long-range effort.
It was all square as Berwick responded in the best possible fashion, when Dean Hoskins curled his free-kick into the top corner after a foul on Darren Lavery outside the box.
Clyde's chances of clinching a winner were dampened when Ian Gray was dismissed in the 63rd minute for a second bookable offence.
The Borderers pushed for a winner with Kevin McDonald and Dean Hoskins causing problems, but it was Steven Notman who found space on the edge of the box to give Ian Little's men all three points.
